Micaela Gabriela Balie is a fourth year art student at the University of the Free State in Bloemfontein. Her artworks are feminist in nature and her current concepts revolve around floral metaphors used to describe female sexuality. Her aim with her artworks is to analyse these floral-female metaphors and re-appropriate them in order to promote feminism as well as to create an image that can inspire women to obtain a higher esteem and acceptance for their sexuality.
